The campaign biography of the Prohibition Party presidential candidate Fisk, who had also been a Union General and the senior office in the Bureau of Refugees, Freedmen and Abandoned Lands. Fisk was instrumental in setting up free schools for African Americans in the South; the historically black university Fisk University is named for him.
