In the wake of the Hicksite separations of the late 1820s, the Ohio Yearly Meeting (Orthodox) called for a General Conference of Orthodox Yearly Meetings in Mount Pleasant, Ohio, held in 1829. The Clerk of the meeting was the Ohio printer and recorded minister Elisha Bates, who likely had the largest hand in drafting this statement of testimonies of the Orthodox Yearly Meetings; his name as Clerk is at the foot of the text. Includes the printed minutes from the eight Yearly Meetings who adopted this testimony. American Imprints 1508.
