Louisville: Pentecostal Herald Press, 1900. First edition. 16mo, original printed wrappers, 47 pages. Frontis portrait. Wrappers a bit sunned and chipped and soiled; some staining from the rusty staples; a good, sound copy. Item #14571

An early specimen of Christian Science controversial literature, an attack on Eddy and her principles from this Gospel minister. This title--"Christian Science, Falsely So-called"--appears to have enjoyed a modest vogue, having first been published in an 1889 sermon delivered in Logansport, Indiana, by D. P. Putnam, then subsequently by both Wilson and by one Abbie C. Morrow (her entry also published in Louisville in 1900), and W. J. Nesbitt (Belleville, Canada, 1903), W. F. Packard (Dallas, 1909), when it was at last emplyed in 1911 by the Goliath of religious publishers, Fleming Revell, when it published a book by Wm. Leon Brown under this title. OCLC notes two locations (DLC, KyWAT).
