The Transition Between the Christian and Millennial Dispensations. A. D. 1848 proved to be A. M. 6000!

London: James Nisbet & Co.; Liverpool: Smith & Co., 1852. First edition. 8vo, removed pamphlet (no wrappers), 46 pages. A trifle musty; a very good copy. Item #15359

A curious and uncommon work of prophecy, arguing the chronology of the Gentile age and suggesting Louis Napoleon is the Antichrist whose defeat will usher in the Age of Restoration in 1866. With hints of Anglo-Israelism (will Britain be freed to become the Kingdom of the South?) but no specific mention of competing prophetic systems (viz. Miller). Du Puget certainly anticipates the teachings of Charles Taze Russel, though there seems no direct link between the two. Small ink autograph nonce volume notation at the head of the title page. OCLC locates copies at the British Library, National Library of Scotland, and Cambridge University only.
