A posthumous work of the French Protestant critic and scholar Saumaise (1588-1653), collecting previously published epistles and a new life of Saumaise by Anthony Clement (including a list of his publications). Includes an attack on Hensius. The fine portrait of Saumaise trimmed, with loss to the border and the name of the engraver. Extensive mounted errata slip at the foot of page 294.
