Charming children’s book in Russian (verses on a toy horse) from the Yiddish poet Leib Kvitko (1890-1952), the Ukrainian-born Jewish anti-fascist poet and children’s author, popular both as a Yiddish poet and a Soviet children’s poet; resident in Moscow from 1936, arrested in 1948, and executed along with 12 other members of the Jewish Anti-Fascist Committee in August, 1952 on “the night of the Murdered Poets.” This title issued in the Soviet children’s series, Knizhka-malyshka.
