[Chicago: Apyrotropher Publishing and Supply House], 1924. First edition. Original self wrappers, 8.88 x 6 inches, [20] pages. Illus. Some light soiling and wear; in very good condition. Item #18613

A wonderful look at alternative living in Roaring Twenties Chicago, essentially an extended advertisement for Drews’s concern: raw foods, sunlight baths, uplifting publications on vegetarian raw diets, food mills, carrot graters, and a wonderful ad for The Original Eutropheon, “Established 1909”—Dr. George Drew’s “True Unfired Food” boarding house and diatetic school on Harding Avenue in Chicago; another ad announces that the concern has taken over the Whole House at 1910 No. Harding Ave. for luncheon talks—in an early hand, a reader has written in autograph ink at the foot of this page, “They had a full house & we all had a fine time. Dr. Lindlake also opened a vegt. restaur. on State & Randolph St.” Not found on OCLC.
