Hartford: Printed by George Goodwin & Sons, 1820. Original blue sugar paper wrappers, 4.25 x 2.63 inches, [1], [3]-62, [1] pages. Frontis, illus. Wrappers worn and soiled, with a portion of the spine perishing; somewhat toned; a few bits of light marginal staining; a good, sound copy. Item #19260

The first and last leaf are mounted to the inside of the wrappers. With ads for Goodwin on the leaf mounted to the rear wrapper. Heartman 329; American Imprints 2416; Hamilton, American Illustrators, 361: "The frontispiece is signed 'J. W. Barber.' While it is impossible to say whether he made the conventional cuts for the alphabet . . . and the cut of 'The Burning of Mr. John Rogers,' it would seem likely that he did."
