Billy-Goat Graham Says I Want You! you sucker! . . .

[San Francisco: n. p., ca. 1965?]. Offset broadside printed in green ink reproducing portraits of televangelists in halftone and holograph text, 8.5 x 11 inches. A little chipped along one edge, some light creasing and wear; a bit toned; in very good condition. Item #19753

A characteristic free thought art piece (“Send the dough & blessings will flow!”) from the San Francisco anarchist-pacifist folk artist Pemabo (1880-1971), the Australian-born sign painter whose eccentric “peace garden” installation on Clayton Street was developed by the artist sometime after the founding of the United Nations and grew into a cavalcade of hand-painted signs delivering his messages of free thought and peace. (See a profile of Bond and his installation in Rolling Stone, May 3, 1969.) Signed in the lower right corner in ballpoint ink, Pemabo.
