With an advertisement at the foot of the broadsheet for The Message Bird: A National Journal of Music and Literature, published by M. T. Brocklebank & Co., No. 2 Astor House; the Message Bird was published under this title from August 1, 1849 through April 15, 1851. The extensive list of sheet music available includes “Jenny Linds [sic] Polish Mazurka,” suggesting a publication date to take advantage of the Jenny Lind-mania that trailed in the wake of her American tour sometime after her arrival in New York in September, 1850.
