From late in the career of the pioneering American color printer and enterprising publisher Gustavus Sigismund Peters comes this handy edition of devotional prayers and hymns translated from German; Peters first published this translation in 1829 and seems to have subsequently reissued it every several years. The marbling style suggests a later state of a publisher’s binding, perhaps from the 1860s.
