[Michigan]: L. F. Heath, Artist, [ca. 1890s]. 7.63 x 9.25 inches on a mount measuring 11 x 13.75 inches. Mount blind-stamped below the photograph with the photographer’s device, “L. F. Heath, Artist.”. Tack holes to the upper corners of the mount, spot of marginal damp-staining to the mount; some general light soiling and foxing to the mount; the photograph itself is shark and bright; in very good condition. Item #20204
An attractive and somewhat vertiginous portrait (given the depth of field) from a presumably itinerant commercial photography project. The Tinder guide to Michigan photographers has an L. F. Heath in Rose, Michigan ca. 1898, Pontiac in 1899; whether this photographer is the doughty Lumen F. Heath of the Tinder directory who had a long-time watch repair, jewelry, and photography business in Lyon, then Lansing, and subsequently North Lansing from 1862-1903 is unclear. Later irrelevant and unduly pessimistic price decal affixed to the blank verso.
