Criticism of the health implications of a proposed Edinburgh drainage scheme from the Scottish physician who had done much to reform the sanitary condition of the British armed forces (cf. the DNB). He here touches on the varied compositions of excreta, possible sources of typhus, ventilation schemes and the obtuseness of certain political interests.
