From the Presbyterian Spear, a detailed and compelling argument against the Fugitive Slave Law and the institution of slavery: "If it is not morally wrong before God to capture a man who has committed no crime, and forcibly drag him back to a bondage he loathes, and has a right to loathe, and which he was done his best to shun--if this be not morally wong, then what is there in the distinction between the right and wrong that is of any moment?"
