Demonology, or The Devil and His Angels. Part I. Identification, or Who They Are . . . Part II. What They Are, as Evident from their Appellations or What is Said About Them.

[Wrapper imprint:] Chicago: The Early & Halla Printing Company, 1894. Later printing; copyrighted by Godfrey in 1885. 8vo, original printed blue wrappers, 27 pages, wire stitched. Wrappers somewhat soiled and a little worn; a very good copy. Item #18361

Per the title page of Godfrey’s 1885 The World’s Spiritual Conquest Or Its Conversion to Christ (Kansas City, Mo., 1885), Godfrey was a minister in Fairport, Kansas; he here takes a detailed taxonomic approach to identifying the demons (with Biblical citation) as well as a generally Thomistic justification of the existence of Satan and the demons. OCLC notes three locations for a 27-page edition with no imprint and no evidence of publication information; an edition of 65 pages published in Cleveland in 1900 is also noted, at Columbia University only.
