A Series of Lectures, in the Most Important Subjects in Divinity.
Fayetteville, T. [Tennessee]: Printed for the Cumberland Presbyterian Synod, by E. and J. B. Hill, 1827. First edition. 12mo, original tree calf, black leather label, gilt rules and lettering, 222, [1] pages. Short closed tear (no loss) from the fore-edge of one leaf; some foxing throughout; a nearly fine copy. Item #19482
An early Tennessee imprint from the important early Cumberland Presbyterian figure and active anti-Mormon agitator in Missouri. By all appearances the first substantial book to issue from a Fayetteville press; the Tennessee imprint inventory notes Hills almanacs printed in 1825 and 1826, and suggests an unlocated 1826 Fayetteville title, United States Criminal History--that latter almost certainly the work of that title printed in 1836 in Fayetteville, N. Y. American Imprints 28822; AII (Tennessee) 330.
