An extensive promotional pamphlet intended to steer men into treatment for their sexual excesses at the Heidelberg Medical Institute. With four pages of forms in the rear for mail order diagnosis of symptoms, with ample testimonials and advertisement for the institute throughout. With reference in the text to such authorities as Havelock Ellis and Krafft-Ebing, and at least one reference to a work published in 1906. Atwater 1610: “The Heidelberg Medical Institute in St. Paul, Minn., under the direction of H.A. Franklin, specialized in the treatment of sexual disorders and sexually transmitted diseases. Testimonies abound regarding the efficacy of the ‘Electro-Medical Treatment’ available through the mail. Four tear-out forms inserted at the end of the text allow readers to describe their symptoms by post. A section of this Symptom Blank is reserved for the symptoms of ‘blood poison’ (i.e., syphilis, etc.).”.
