An occupational-promotional photo card—Monsch sits on a beer keg in Louis Bergman’s photo studio and leans against two more stacked kegs. Trade directories have Louis Bergman setting up his own studio in 1874; the extensive obituary on Monsch in the Louisville Courier-Journal dated 23 March 1896 (Monsch is characterized as “one of the city’s best known residents”) notes that Monsch left Phoenix Brewery in 1878 for the Frank Fehr Brewing Company.
