Nerv-York [i.e., New York]: Printed and Sold by Samuel Wood & Sons, at the Juvenile Book-store, No. 357, Pearl-street, 1816. A later printing of this near-miniature chapbook. Original printed wrappers (3.25 x 2 inches), [16] pages. Woodcut illus., including wood engravings by Alexander Anderson. Stitching renewed with thread at an early date. Somewhat foxed and soiled and a bit worn throughout; a couple small closed marginal tears; in good condition. Item #22098

Verses for children, a popular chapbook from Wood with printings as early as 1809. Includes illustrated celebrations of hoop rolling and rope jumping among the spring activities. With a page in the rear advertising Wood’s juvenile book shop. Early ink ownership signature in the gutter of the title page. Welch 1242.5; American Imprints 38997.
