A monolingual Italian translation of this popular historical novel (first published in French in 1747), with earlier editions from the Seguin press (both in Italian and in French and Italian) appearing at least as far back as 1800. Early American bookplate on the front pastedown (printed by Annin & Smith, active in Boston from 1820 to 1837), with an ink gift inscription at the head of the title page dated 1838.
