A first-person account of the life of a New Bedford sailor and adventurer, including stories of life on a whaler, of having jumped ship in the Marquesas as a 16-year-old boy, and of his voyage in a 19-foot boat with his wife across the Atlantic. This edition was published by the author's widow in an effort to raise funds after the his nine-foot dory capsized on a voyage to Cuba.
